A classic of the Golden Age of minerals, these light lavender-purple-capped gem tourmalines came out of the legendary Virgem da Lapa mine in the 1960s-1970s. They are immediately recognizable for the gem purpley tips, on gem evergreen bodies. This is a wonderful, sharp, complete crystal with no repairs. 15 grams. Mike Schmidt had a wonderful suite of tourmaline singles spanning the 70s-90s, which came to market not long ago. (Mike is the son of Chicago dealers Henry and Patsy Schmidt, and had good access!).
