Here is a dramatic and very unique Pyromorphite from surprising new finds in China from 2021-22, often marketed as coming from the older known lead mines around Guilin in Guangxi. This is totally unlike any specimens of this species that have been produced from China and certainly not like any any from the Guilin area produced in the past, such as Daoping or Yangshuo, where this is supposed to be in proximity. They actually come from Guangdong, to the West (and we have a home and gallery/office in Guilin, so trust us on this!). Rich, bright olive green, translucent prismatic crystals are stacked and clustered very attractively on this aesthetic miniature, which was among the best of size class in a large lot of hundreds of pieces. Individual crystals range in size from 3 mm to 1.3 cm and are hexagonal prisms, some of which are slightly flattened and some are even somewhat hoppered. The luster on these is superb and the color is actually slightly variegated from a rich, medium bright olive green to to patches of lighter tone of similar color elongated parallel to the length of the crystals. Two of the clusters are in near vertical orientation and composed of built-up, parallel to near parallel growth crystals, one standing 4 cm the other 2 cm. The crystals in the smaller stack have more random orientation than the larger one. Numerous other Pyromorphite crystals are randomly oriented on this well composed and well balanced piece. Arguably one of the finest in size class from the find.
