Description
WOW, this is just a stunning Red Cloud thumbnail! While Red Cloud produced thousands of little gemmy crystals, some stand out more impactfully and memorably than others like this one from the "Red Gem Pocket" or 2003, of which we purchased the majority of the contents from the company that mined it. This exceptional piece is host to a trio of highly lustrous, translucent to transparent red-orange crystals of Wulfenite perched on a sliver of glistening matrix for great presentation. The big, beautiful, prominent crystal measures 1.8 cm in maximum dimension and the other two are 1.1 and 0.7 cm, all three with gorgeous color, luster and transparency. All three crystals have an atypical, slightly elongate tetragonal shape and sport beveled edges from slight pyramidal modifications. One tiny contact on one corner, otherwise perfect all around. It's just a super colorful thumbnail example from this great find in 2003 and this incredibly famous locality! This pocket, for shocking red color saturation AND luster, was notable. It did not produce large specimens or large crystals BUT the pieces are memorable and stand out from all other pockets. This was one of the finest thumbnails, which we sold at the time.
