Baryte with Calcite
A single, transparent, golden syrup Calcite crystal stands on a bed of buttercup yellow tiny Calcite crystals from Elk Creek Dalzell, Meade County, South Dakota, USA. It is reported such specimens are always found in large septarian nodules, although the hit-rate is fairly low! The accompanying video shows this specimen in white LED light and ultraviolet light; the Baryte fluorescing ethereal whitish-blue and the surrounding Calcite a pale straw yellow.
