Tucson, Arizona, USAChalcocite is not uncommon from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia but this large thumbnail is exceptional for the quality and quantity of its crystals. A matrix-less specimen composed entirely of well crystallised Chalcocite forms gunmetal to bright metallic silver prisms up to 7 mm long. The crystals are intergrown at random orientations, so forming an open stick framework full of voids. A very rich and well crystallised Chalcocite from the Tsumeb mine in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia.
