Description
Who could not love this specimen, lots of creamy buttermilk to pale yellow Leadhillite crystals richly covering a 4 x 3 cm area, including a roughly 2.5 cm diameter vug in a brecciated Quartz, shale matrix covered in rich patches of bright orange to canary yellow Pyromorphite. From the British Isles, where else could be from other than Susanna mine in Leadhills, Lanarkshire, Scotland. This fine cabinet specimen perfectly displays the large variety of glassy Leadhillite crystals on its front face , with Leadhillite crystals reaching up to 9 mm, occurring as part-hexagonal blades. Other Leadhillite crystals form plates and blocky prisms over a crystallised white equant cerussite crystals. The specimen is also rich in dull lead grey Galena within the brecciated matrix. A superb cabinet specimen from the classic Susanna mine.
