Harmotome
Harmotome is a relatively rare zeolite but is known to form good crystals in the mines around St. Andreasberg in the Harz mountains of Lower Saxony, Germany. Covering much of the upper face of a light grey basaltic matrix, well developed Harmotome crystals up to 1.2 cm, and likely bigger, cover a roughly 6 x 3 cm area. The prisms are translucent cream to a slightly dirty cream, with some displaying drill-bit twinned crystals. This rich and characteristic specimen comes with two nice labels, one old and one very old.
