Fluorite from Elbolton mine near Craven in North Yorkshire is very distinctive as shown by this beautiful display specimen. Cabinet in size, the large cubic crystals (to over 3 cm on edge) display the characteristic bright indigo-blue outer zone on colourless Fluorite. The crystals are sharp and well defined with no apparent damage to the main display face, just usual edge wear around the periphery where it was extracted and trimmed. As light passes through the Fluorite crystals an even darker blue thin outer band shows up which is so distinctive. Ex Jesse Fisher collection.
