SIEGENITE on Chalcopyrite$400.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
For the collector of rare species, a nice example of Siegenite with Chalcopyrite from Victoria mine at Littfeld in Siegerland, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Like many other specimens, this was labelled as Linnaeite (not Linarite), but modern analysis has shown this to be Siegenite, a cobalt nickel sulphide, with no known presence of Linnaeite at this locality. Linnaeite is both a divalent and trivalent cobalt sulphide. The Siegenite forms as slightly iridescent octagonal crystals lining a larger vug on one side and a small vug at one end, each framed by massive and semi-crystalline Chalcopyrite.
