A beautiful small cabinet specimen of the classic Baryte on Fluorite assemblage from the Berbes Mining District, Asturias, northern Spain. Intense, purple, glassy cubes of Fluorite form the colourful backdrop to a large (45 x 22 x 18 mm) spray of white bladed Baryte crystals. The Fluorite crystals reach 10 mm on edge, but it is their bright glassy lustre that really stands out. Several other slightly damaged Baryte crystals sit upon the Fluorite on the back of the specimen, but the main spray on top is in perfect condition. A small amount of colourless Quartz is also present beneath the Fluorite, but is easily overlooked. This is a really showy specimen from the classic Spanish occurrence and is instantly recognisable.
