Bayldonite
Bayldonite is a lead-copper arsenate and occurs as a light to dark leaf green micro-crystalline coating over translucent milky Quartz in this small miniature from Wheal Carpenter at Fraddam in the Gwinear-Gwithian district of west Cornwall. This small mine began around 1792 and worked intermittently before closing in 1855. It is the type locality to Cornubite. This specimen of Bayldonite on Quartz is typical for this mine. It at first appears more a series of green smudges, but on examination is seen to be entirely crystallised at the micro-scale.
