Fluorite on Calcite
1
Unknown Owner
An attractive miniature specimen from the famous find in Josefa-Veneros vein on the 75 level at Collada mine in Asturias, Spain, known for producing wonderfully distinctive Fluorite crystals. This is a great smaller example, consisting of a 1.5 cm wide Fluorite cube sat upon a Calcite crystal. The Fluorite crystal displays the characteristic deep purple chamfered edge modifications with paler coloured, glassy, central zones and core. The Calcite crystal matrix provides a lovely contrast in colour and makes the Fluorite crystal really stand out. A very aesthetic specimen.
