Tucson, Arizona, USAPanasqueira specimens never fail to please and this charming miniature continues the tradition! The two prime species are excellent crystals of Quartz and Fluorapatite on a mixed matrix of pale tan Siderite, massive Wolframite and a few small clusters of crystallised Marcasite. The reasonably gemmy, colourless Quartz crystal measures 2.8 cm tall and the largest Fluorapatite, 2.9 cm wide. The Fluorapatites, of which there are several crystals, form in a cog-wheel habit with serrated edges. They are translucent milky white with a pale teal blue lining around their edges. The Panasqueira mine at Covilhã is in the Castelo Branco District of Portugal.
