Given the specific locality provided with this specimen, it is possible to say it was mined during the 1960s when the 75 level, later renamed Veneros, connected the Collada and Josefa mines in order to recover Fluorite. Going back further to 1904, La Collada mine was the first to discover Fluorite in this area. This beautiful miniature Fluorite is fundamentally a translucent, milky cream composite crystal, displaying surfaces of stepped cubic faces outlined in purple violet. Infilling the violet framework are nebulous internal zones of deep sky blue, lavender and cornflower blue, light mauve and rich reddish mauve. In summary, it’s a patchwork quilt of subtle blues and purples all outlined by a linear violet framework. A gorgeous, colour zoned Fluorite from the Collada mine in the La Collada mining area of Asturias, Spain.
