Tucson, Arizona, USAHighly elongated and vertically striated small glassy golden Baryte crystals are densely aggregated in this miniature specimen from the small but famous Cartersville Mining District, Bartow County, Georgia, USA. Some really superb Baryte crystals of quite different forms have come from this area, but it is very rare that specimens are seen for sale. This specimen features individual crystals to 9 mm in length, although the majority are around 5 mm long. Although simply labelled as from Cartersville Mining District I have seen a photograph of this distinctive form of Baryte labelled as from PAGA mine. With a little more research, or local specialist knowledge, the exact locality might be determined. An unusual American Baryte.
