Shangulowé mine, Kambove District, Katanga Copper Crescent, DR of Congo is generally accepted to have produced the finest Baryte-Malachite combination specimens anywhere in the DR Congo most of which were collected during the late 1990s. This stunning cabinet specimen is a beautiful example from Shangulowé mine. Malachite forms the matrix as a thin dark green botryoidal crust upon which amazing colour-zoned glassy coffin-shaped Baryte crystals are spread concentrated down one side. The Baryte crystals are extremely well-formed and colourless, white and orange with discrete colour zoning. They average about 1.5 cm in length making for a really delightful display.
