Granite pegmatites at Dolní Bory, near Ždár nad Sázavou, Vysocina Region, Moravia (Mähren), Czech Republic have long been known to produce good Quartz crystals, but generally in smaller individual crystals. Some fine dark smoky crystals were recovered during the 1970s and 1980s, but this large individual squat pyramidal pale Smoky Quartz crystal is a stunner. It displays development of a skeletal form, particularly on the pyramidal faces. This form is sometimes also referred to as "Fenster" or "Window" Quartz. This is an excellent Eastern European Quartz crystal of the highest quality. Ex Hans Engelbrecht collection.
