Tucson, Arizona, USAGermanocolusite is a very rare copper vanadium germanium arsenic sulphide recorded from just a handful of world localities. It is never seen in specimen form as it usually occurs as microscopic inclusions or grains within other mixed sulphide ores. Consequently, most images of this species are as greyscale Scanning Electron Micrographs, taken from polished sections or microscope mounts when the species is identified chemically through microprobe analysis. This polished section of ore from Tsumeb mine contains Germanocolusite along with Tennantite, Chalcopyrite, Galena, Pyrite and Dolomite, but will require a reflected light microscope for inspection/study. The overall dimensions for this specimen relate to the size of the polished section. The specimen, which is embedded within resin, is 13 x 9 x 1 mm. This specimen comes from a famous Austrian rare species collector. A rare opportunity to obtain not just one of Tsumeb's rare species, but one of the world's rare species.
