This spectacular large display specimen is from the famous La Gardette mine near Bourg d'Oisans, in Isère, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France. It is absolutely what you would expect from La Gardette: long, narrow, crystal clear rock crystals; classic thin quartz matrix with sharply formed crystals spraying out in all directions; characteristic 'Dauphine-habit' crystal form - where the termination displays one, or two, much larger pyramidal faces. Some of the Quartz crystals are doubly-terminated and the longest reaches over 6.5 cm in length. Several of the larger Quartz crystals display the famous 'Dauphine-habit' form. There is no obvious damage to be seen. A superb, large display quality specimen of a French, and European classic.
