Applying a non-technical term, this is a killer specimen and I would say remarkably well priced at $1500. An excellent example of well crystallised dark bottle green Epidote in a rich bed of beautifully crystallised, colourless to pale milky Quartz from Green Monster Mountain on Prince of Wales Island, Alaska, USA. The name of this iconic locality speaks for itself, being one of the best sources of top quality Epidote specimens in the world. The Epidote forms excellent bevel-edged tabular crystals of up to 2.8 cm on edge, of intensely dark and opaque green, appearing almost black, typical for this locality. It is a large cabinet specimen measuring 15.5 x 14 cm which will look superb displayed.\n
