For many years the Stibnites from Maramureș County, Romania were considered world-class - not the largest in terms of crystals compared to historic specimens from Japan, but exceptional groupings of perfectly formed crystals. Then in the early 2000s, China started to produce exceptionally large prismatic Stibnite crystals, and in aesthetic aggregates too, but there is still something lovely about these Eastern European classics. This fine cabinet specimen is a superb example balancing relatively thick, dark grey metallic prismatic crystals with excellent terminations. Many of the Stibnite crystals reach about 3 cm in length. The crystals all look pristine and fan out in a dramatic fashion like any fine Romanian Stibnite should. A super Stibnite specimen for display.
