Stephanite
Stephanite is an uncommon silver antimony sulphide species first described from Freiberg in Saxony, Germany in 1845. Although not as colourful as some of the other famous silver sulphosalts, such as Prousite and Pyrargyrite, Stephanite is still a highly desirable species to possess. This miniature Stephanite is stunning. Not only is it from the Type Locality region of Freiberg, but it displays superb pseudohexagonal crystals with a remarkable metallic lustre, oozing with the patina of 'historic', but whilst still looking fresh. These crystals have a imposing chunky form and reach up to 8 mm across which is a really fine size from this, the Type Locality region. A choice, crystallized Stephanite specimen, full of class.
