Sweet Home mine, Alma District, Park Co., Colorado, USA is perhaps the ultimate Rhodochrosite locality for intensity of colour, quality and aesthetics. This miniature specimen is from the Rainbow Pocket at Sweet Home mine and consists of a matrixless aggregate of deep cerise-pink rhombic crystals, some of which have pale pink tips. This zonation in colour is not common at all at Sweet Home mine, but adds an interesting touch to this specimen.
