Description
This slightly unusual Fluorite crystal is from the PA Claim in Teller County, Colorado. It consists of a very dark purple, highly modified crystal, or partial crystal, as the rear is missing. The front faces, as seen from display, show the development of the cube and octahedron and are nicely formed. Internally, the crystal is purple, but never gemmy, or properly translucent. Its natural base consists of a small layer of greyish Quartz crystals. Small scratches are present on one crystal face as shown in the photograph. From the collection of Arvid Pasto, author of the 2009 book "A Collector's Guide to Fluorite". A very unusual Fluorite from Colorado.
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
