Azurite
Good miniature specimens are highly sought and this single crystal of Azurite from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia exemplifies why. A single, intensely dark blue, lustrous Azurite crystal, 2.9 cm long, is attached by half of one prism face to a fine-granular, dark grey sulphide matrix of cemented brecciated shards, with occasional glassy emerald green glassy crystals of Adamite. The Azurite is mainly opaque, yet certain edges are sufficiently translucent to allow the characteristic electric blue to shine through. A little natural damage is apparent on one prism face, yet is nonetheless a splendid Azurite crystal.\n
