Fluorite
Some Fluorite specimens - particular colours - defy the ability of photography to adequately portray their quality, but with these La Collada Fluorites the images speak louder than any words. Colourful, complex, and sometimes large, the Fluorite crystals from Collada mine are like a work of art. This huge detached individual crystal, reaching 9 cm on edge, displays the iconic crystal form of Fluorite from Collada mine, but much more accentuated than is usual. Characteristic, wide, crazed, deep purple chamfered edges contrast against the paler lilac, to pale blue coloured glassy interior of the cube. This crystal is so large that the chamfered edges can be seen to be made of hundreds of tiny stepped cubic faces. The main cube is not a floater, but shows its point of attachment on the rear. The main crystal faces, corners and edges are in excellent condition. Internally, the crystal is translucent, rather than transparent, but looks absolutely amazing when backlit. This specimen specifically comes from the 75 Level on Josefa-Veneros vein and dates back to an early find. An absolute treasure.
