Force Crag mine in Coledale, near Keswick in Cumbria is one of just a few localities in Britain where brown Pyromorphite occurs. This material was collected during the 1990s. This small cabinet specimen was found in June 1996 in No. 3 level, close to the La Porte Incline and was sold by Secured Minerals in Kendal, Cumbria. It eventually entered Mike Brooke's collection of British minerals. The Pyromorphite forms 1 cm long mink-brown acicular to prismatic crystals on Skiddaw Slate matrix with minor Baryte. This is a really good example from this short-lived find and now a British classic.
