Alamosite
Unknown Owner
An extremely rich and well-crystallized thumbnail specimen of the rare lead silicate, Alamosite. From Tsumeb mine, where the best crystals of this species have been found. The specimen is almost entirely Alamosite, which forms fan-like sprays of glassy, pale green, prismatic crystals up to a staggering 2 cm in length. Several crystal sprays interlock at their crystal terminations but this means that very few perfectly terminated crystals are to be seen. A very substantial aggregate of Alamosite crystals of the like rarely seen available. Acquired by the previous rare species collector in 1986.
