Tucson, Arizona, USAA great specimen of bright, orange-red, trapezohedron Spessartine garnet crystals on matrix from the modern classic Chinese occurrence at Wushan Spessartine Mine, Tongbei. Spessartine was discovered there in the late 1990s and has since produced some of the world's best examples of this species. They are certainly not the world's largest crystals, but the perfection of their crystal form is amazing. This miniature specimen has the top surface completely coated in translucent orange Spessartine crystals exceptionally to about 1 cm in diameter, but generally in the 3 to 6 mm size. The crystal faces display wonderful growth lines. A great Spessartine specimen.
