Rich reddish to apricot orange fibres of the rare lead-iron arsenite Ludlockite cover a tiny matrix of metallic Germanite and tower above it forming a rich tuft. Ludlockite develops as hair-like acicular crystals and is one of those species which non-collectors always want to prod or stroke with a finger! It comes housed in a Perky box with hard foam insert base and twist-clasp. The Ludlockite fibres on the back of the specimen are partly matted and tangled while those on the display face are clean, tangle-free and perfect. As far as size classification goes, this would be termed a large micromount or small thumbnail. It is a very rich example of Ludlockite and for collectors who specialise in this size range is a superb example.
