Medina is a famous pegmatite deposit whose fame is largely due to Aquamarine, but it does produce other minerals. These were a classic of the early 1990s and hugely popular and valuable at the time they came out. They are gemmy and light honey-colored, and form these divergent sprays of gem crystals that diverge and fan out. The crystals are elongated for Fluorapatite with the largest crystal 2.7 cm in length. More than anything else, they are simply sparkling, glassy, gemmy and beautiful and largely gone from any modern markets today, so one like this stands out in a case. Complete all the way around, this Fluorapatite from the famous Medina locality is stunning. The piece exhibits a rich, lemon-yellow fluorescence.
