Gem sphalerite, literally, is part of what this mine is known for worldwide, particularly in the collectible gem industry. Specimens of sphalerite crystals are rare today, and such have not come out in more than 15 years. This is a large, robust cluster of intergrown crystals, with a high luster and shine, excellent color, and a beautiful flowing shape to the surface where they intergrow. Depending on the angle and intensity of lighting, it has colors from red-orange to amber in hue. It is complete on the display face, and sits on its own. An old specimen, likely from the 90s or before.
