Here we have another stunning Burmese Elbaite tourmaline crystal of a very rare style for this country. This one is very gemmy with a wonderful dark pink body and a complexly colored cranberry cap that, towards the interior, has a yellow-brown hue similar to the interior zone observed at the base where a similarly colored, 4 mm diameter core is present. The prism faces are striated and have a good luster and the gem, pyramidal termination has a glassy luster. Interestingly, there are minor negative crystal impressions on the backside and a few very small ones on the front. Gorgeous at 21.3 grams.
