A sharp Japan-law twinned quartz, actually from Japan! This is a superb thumbnail, better than most as it is a perfect balance in the shape and size of each half, plus the accent of a perfect normal prismatic crystal standing straight up in the middle for contrast. I cannot recall seeing such a balanced Japan law twin thumbnail with a contrast like this, literally intergrown (aesthetically, not jumbly!) despite having such different habits. This elevates it above the normal "single" crystal quartz thumbnails you'd expect to see of this habit. An old piece ex Schlichter to Flynn.
