Glassy, transparent, richly colored grossular crystals to 1.2 cm make this a beautiful thumbnail from the classic, now closed locale. Although it's a sad loss to collectors with the mine closing in the 2000s, the closure does ensure value in the material it did produce. This piece consists of a multitude of lustrous, scintillating, sherry-colored crystals without matrix. It is a thin piece and because there is no matrix, which gives a greater gemminess as a result. This is a particularly sparkling and gemlike example of the grossular from this famous locale, with the top luster that can be seen from feet away as a "sparkle" of light. Jeffrey Mine was an important suite in the Flynn collection.
