Fluorite
Known to collectors since the 1970s, fluorites from the Rogerley quarry have become famous and grace many private and public collections across the world. They are glassy, sharp, gemmy to the core, very fluorescent (both in sunlight and under UV light), and top quality. The mines at Rogerley quarry have sporadically produced from time to time in the past 50 years but since the inception of the Diana Maria mine in 2017, some of the finest Rogerley quarry fluorites have been recovered through the specimen recovery efforts there. One such pocket is the "Queen of Green" pocket - known for highly lustrous, transparent twinned fluorites with aragonite and/or galena associations. This piece is only gemmy green fluorite, no aragonite or galena, on a shard of limestone matrix. It presents beautifully without any damage or contact on the main crystals. A very affordable small cabinet specimen without compromising looks or quality!
