This is a beautiful, complexly arranged cluster of classically colored cranberry gem Tourmalines from this classic pegmatite mine, the Cruzeiro, and as you turn it around you notice what a balanced and interesting specimen it is compared to the usual jumbles of sticks, and singles. There are four crystals that comprise this cluster and all of them possess a gemmy, bluish-purple core for the bottom half in the large one and three-fourth of the crystal crystals in the other three with the jacket and upper portions displaying a brilliant cranberry coloration. The very tip of each of the Elbaite crystals has thin deep magenta cap for added effect and aesthetics. The bluish purple color is really more an effect of the color of the light blue (Indicolite) core being surrounded by the cranberry red rim resulting in the bluish purple color. The terminations are intact on all of the Tourmalines with two of the intermediate crystals showing some slight etching. The large crystal has three very clean repairs (very minor fill at one). This lovely piece has a mass of 59.34 grams.
