Bright, botryoidal chalcopyrite formations (aka "blister copper") liberally coat a matrix accented by calcite crystals. While these could initially be mistaken for old, classic finds from Cornwall, they're actually too big for old English material and rather are "COVID-era" finds from China in early 2020. The front right "finger" formation reaches about 2 cm and angles out isolated from the brassy bed, and to the left at the bottom of the specimen, several lustrous, iron-stained calcite crystals peek out from the chalcopyrite botryoids. This is a visually intriguing and well-balanced small cabinet piece that really pops!
