We haven't seen many green Tourmalines from the pegmatites in Myanmar (Burma) and this thumbnail is a beauty. Much of the body of this Elbaite is a vibrant, teal green-blue complemented with a dark green-black cap at its pyramidal termination. The prism faces are distinctly striated parallel to the length of the crystal as typical for Tourmaline. The edges of the crystal are sharp and well formed with the crystal contacted at its base where it was removed from the pocket matrix. This beauty has a mass of 4.45 grams. This is a GEM - literally, cutting rough. Unique and if not from the Bill Larson collection here, frankly I would not believe it was really from Burma.
