Pyrite (sharp octohedra)

Stunning, sharply formed, bright metallic, brass-yellow Pyrite octahedrons form a very aesthetic specimen from the Huanzala Mine of Peru. The dramatic machined-looking octahedrons have mirror bright faces with barely discernible, extremely low-profile growth hillocks that add subtle aesthetic enhancements to the piece. The octahedral crystals are grouped essentially side-by-side and distinct. They produce a remarkable geometric array of triangular shapes from the octahedral faces. Edges of the octahedral faces range from 1.5 to 4.5 cm and they are all pristine on the entire display area, save the bottom of the piece where it was attached. For the size, this is a remarkable specimen of quality that stands out from most others. From a small find of older years, and the multigenerational personal collection of Elmer and Bruce Ramos, of Lima, Peru. It was sold by Elmer Ramos' family in memory of the famous, affable, well-loved Peruvian dealer, who sadly passed away during COVID.
