Stunning is the best way to describe this Prehnite miniature from the O & G Woodbury Quarry in Connecticut. At least two dozen gemmy to translucent interconnected Prehnite botryoids on this piece display the most brilliant pearlescence we've seen on almost any mineral! The Prehnite hemispheres have a white, essentially opaque interior that is overgrown by a later layer of exquisite, almost transparent, honey-yellow Prehnite that has a magnificent pearly luster that is sprinkled with with numerous, very tiny, 0.25 mm Prehnite crystals that just glisten when you rotate the piece in your hand! The combination of color, translucency, pearly luster and sparkle is nothing short of spectacular. Color is unusual, the quality and condition from here is unusual, and it displays well. We were told by Charlie that he self-collected them long ago (though I cannot recall which year).
