Just a stunning, and nearly limpid Quartz crystal that is just over 9 inches long and 1-1/4 inches in width from the Pomba Pit in Bahia, Brazil. This gorgeous crystal is one of the best representations of the crystals that were mined at this locality during magnesite mining operations in the 1940s and 1950s. Much of this Quartz was recovered and used for its piezoelectric properties for electronics. The prism faces on this magnificent crystal are glassy and the edges are sharp and so is the termination! Some veiled, almost nebulous inclusions run part way through the length of the crystal giving it added character. This is a fantastic crystal from the old finds here at this locality and would be perfect for any Quartz collector or someone just wanting a fine piece to add to their collection! Just a quartz...but a really special and nice single elongated crystal from a prominent collection. He kept it for a reason!
