Impressive, blocky, metallic Arsenopyrites with strays of Quartz characterize this piece from Mexico. This piece represents one of only a few collector-sized pieces that originated from this find from Mina La Cobriza as all of the other crystals found in this pocket were absolutely HUGE as per Peter Megaw and at the time, in Denver 2019, he was only releasing three examples for sale. The big and bright, diamond-shaped Arsenopyrite crystals are clustered on one side of the piece and range from 1 cm up to a whopping 5 cm! They display a brilliant, tin-white color and metallic luster that has a bit of a silkiness to it. The Arsenopyrites are balanced on the opposite side with a profusion of numerous, radiating groups of slender prismatic, sharply tipped, transparent Quartz crystals. Many of the Quartz clusters are studded with tiny, bright, 1 to 3 mm Pyrite crystals toward their center. A few small Quartz groups grace the Arsenopyrites in places. Ex. Matt McGill collection.
