This is an extraordinary, doubly terminated, hexagonal Burmese Sapphire crystal that has perfect textbook symmetry. This gorgeous, blue Sapphire is 2.3 cm in length and 1 cm across at the middle and has a mass of 3.41 grams. Its form is interesting in that it has the normal pyramidal termination at both ends, but one comes to a point and the other has a small, flat pinacoid face. Although slightly water worn, it still has perceptible striations on the pyramid faces perpendicular to the length and exhibits a satin to slightly adamantine luster. Although slightly water worn, it still retains its sharp and well-defined crystal faces and edges. It's very gemmy throughout its entire length and displays a sublime medium blue color to most of the body, graduating to a pale blue at the pointed termination. It is an excellent thumbnail crystal from Burma!
