Fluorite with Aragonite
A pillar of twinned, emerald-green fluorite serves as the main focal point of the specimen. Crystals (up to 2.2 cm on edge) form this 5 cm tall pillar above the rest of the aragonite covered crystals, a well-known association from the Diana Maria mine. This cabinet sized specimen is actually a brecciated fragment that is cemented together by fluorite. There is some perimeter damage where the specimen was attached to the wall of the pocket. As one would expect, these green fluorites are daylight reactive, turning a gemmy blue-green color in natural sunlight and a bright blue-purple under UV light. Specimens from the Queen of Green pocket represent some of the best found since 2017 when major commercial specimen mining recommenced after a hiatus. We are pleased to announce that we made a sizable purchase of the stashed material from this find, which had been put away before COVID, and so we are now able to offer them years later and at half the original asking prices!
