This excellent Erythrite specimen from Morocco was formerly in the Herb Obodda personal collection of worldwide minerals. It has brilliant magenta crystals to 1.5 cm in length, densely covering the entire display surface. These intensely colored, translucent crystals are sharply formed blades and bladed aggregates excellent steep terminations. A few of the smaller Erythrite crystals on the piece are actually gemmy with a slightly brighter magenta color. This small cabinet specimen stands out from the majority of pieces from finds at the Aghbar Mine, which is the only contemporary source for great examples of the species. Erythrite came at its best from this mine, but only in a few finds in the past and a few small pockets that were found in 2009-2010. This is an exceptional example from earlier finds at this mine. Ex. Herb Obodda private collection no. 3696.
