From one of the most consummate Covellite localities in the world comes this beautiful metallic blue and brass-yellow piece from the Calabona Mine in Italy. These historic covellite specimens date from the 1800s and early 1900s, and are considered European treasures today but seldom seen for sale. Tight clusters of metallic, indigo-blue to purple blades of Covellite make up this colorful small cabinet piece, along with brassy yellow, anhedral Pyrite filling the interstices between the Covellite blades. Relatively distinct, pseudohexagonal plates of Covellite crystals can be discerned on the piece with most of them being largely two-dimensional. This is a rare old European locality piece that we rarely see for sale today. Ex Mitch Bernardi Collection.
