When you think of Muscovite as a display specimen that can compete with significant examples of other species, it is hard to bring an image to mind of what that might look like. You may not think of an artistic pair of interown pseudohexagonal crystals like this, especially from somewhere so exotic as Burma! This cluster is composed of two large crystals of coppery tinted Muscovite that are 9 and 5.5 cm across, respectively. The crystals are translucent from the front and remarkably transparent to translucent looking into the sides of the crystals which is not at all common! The larger crystal is about 1.4 cm at its thickest and the other 3 cm thick. There are a few other smaller books of Muscovite to 2 cm in size clustered on one side (or on the bottom depending on how you orient it). We really can't stress the gemminess of the Muscovite edges enough as it's very significant for the species, not to mention beautiful! It is also, as a bonus, a significant example for any Mogok suite, as these are so rarely saved from destruction as byproduct of gemmining.
