Lazulite with Siderite
This style with large crystals was probably from the 1970s or early 1980s finds in the Yukon Territory and here is a significant cluster of lustrous, indigo-blue crystals of Lazulite. A shallow, concave, elongate vug is lined with equant, blocky, complex crystals range from 0.5 to 1.5 cm across with sharp edges and faces. There are at least two dozen fairly isolated indigo-blue crystals distributed across the specimen along with interspersed, 3 to 7 mm, brown Siderite crystals for accent. There is minor peripheral contacting around the crystals that results in a highlighting blue ring around the midnight-blue Lazulites in the vug and contrasts well with the host ironstone rock which is a rich brown. is present but does not overwhelm the specimen. The display area is sparkling, glassy, and unusually pristine. From Canadian collector Claude Begin, to the Cooks.
