Rosasite
The piece is very aesthetic with a variety of both color and texture. I particularly like the sculptural quality of the specimen. This attractive and paragenetically complex specimen was formerly in the collection of Arizona dealer, Evan Jones, and before him, Monnie Speck of Phoenix. Circa 1950 according to the label. Just as Peter Megaw described in the Mineralogical Record, Vol.34, # 5 on pages 81 and 82, this specimen began life as a botryoidal crust of Malachite on Limonite. A later generation of rich, teal colored Rosasite grew over the Malachite, and on top of the Rosasite are clusters of small, flat-lying, lustrous, gemmy, hemimorphite crystals. It is simply INTENSE in color!
